Fair Weather Watchers is a project founded in 2010 by Ginger Hebert, formerly of Gin City. The little lady has been writing and hoarding songs for years and has finally decided to set them free. Ginger was born and brought up in a small Texas oil refining town. Growing up she was forced to go on action-packed adventures to hear live music of any kind. Usually by way of a 2 hour car ride to Houston in the back of her mom’s mini van. Ginger pieced together a swell band and has been living in Austin Texas for the last 5 years, making this music come to life. Fair Weather Watches is folk music in it’s most minimal form. Inspired by the passion of standard jazz vocalists, and finding community in the simplicity and mood of the experimental, Hebert’s style is more cultured by vulnerability and emotional growth than by actual training. Fair Weather Watchers will be releasing a collection of these delicate and moody tunes in early 2011, following a relocation to Portland Oregon. These songs were written from a small and very sad apartment window in Nederland TX, A hospital bedside, In an empty bathtub in Orlando FL with no electricity, and under a huge oak tree in Pease Park.
