Reykjavik, 7 October, 2011 – Bjork’s forthcoming studio album, Biophilia, due to be released on Monday 10th October 2011, is being premiered on all Icelandair flights as part of its in-flight entertainment system.
Gudmundur Oskarsson, Director of Marketing & Business Development at Icelandair, explained, “It is a real honour for us at Icelandair to be able to offer Bjork’s Biophilia album as part of our in-flight entertainment. Bjork is one of the foremost artists in the world right now, and many people have been waiting in anticipation to listen to this album.”
In addition, Bjork will be performing twice at this year’s Iceland Airwaves music festival, which takes place between 12th – 16th October. The Icelandic singer will be performing at the newly opened concert hall, Harpa, located in downtown Reykjavik.
For these special shows, Bjork will be performing new songs from the forthcoming Biophilia studio album as well as music from her back catalogue. The show will feature a range of specially conceived and crafted instruments, among them a bespoke digitally-controlled pipe organ; a 30 foot pendulum that harnesses the earth’s gravitational pull to create musical patterns.
Earlier this year, Icelandair also premiered Arabian Horse, the latest album from Icelandic electro pioneers Gus Gus, a month before its release.
Oskarsson continued, “At Icelandair, we consider it a priority to support Icelandic musicians in whatever way we can.”
“We are very sad to have lost Amy Winehouse today. She was one of a kind and we were fortunate to have had the chance to make music with her. She was always gracious and a pleasure to work with in the studio and on the road. She brought a lot of people joy with her voice and her irreverent personality. It is a tragedy that she was taken from us so soon when she had much more music to give”. – Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and the entire Daptone Records Family
Below is a snip of Fair Weather Watchers’ song “Story Of A Girl” they were recorded live at the 13th and Farm event outside of Wieden and Kennedy on June 22, 2011. We all had so much fun at this event. Support Local FOOD!

I saw Battles recently, and was really disappointed with the new line-up, minus their high energy singer Tyondai Braxton, who left to pursue a solo career. Since then their latest release and live shows are lacking all around. The drummer still kick ass! They were recently featured on Blogotheque… here is the video!
